Opportunity International Australia is a full member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), and is a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct outlines minimum standards of management, accountability and governance for organisations that work in the international development field.
The Code also outlines standards for how organisations are managed, how they communicate with the public, and most importantly, how they spend the funds they raise. In making sure that organisations are accountable, the Code ensures that public confidence is maintained in the way funds are used overseas and in Australia.
The Australian Federal Government, through its overseas aid program managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), has generously assigned funds to programs administered by Opportunity International Australia.
