Opportunity’s program in the Philippines is currently empowering over 500,000 families to create brighter futures – one in which they can afford to feed their families, send their children to school and afford medication and care when they fall ill.
Opportunity’s program in the Philippines is currently at an exciting stage. In the second half of 2011, one of Opportunity’s strategic partners, ASKI, was recognised in the international microfinance community for its social focus, widespread outreach and significant impact - demonstrating Opportunity’s ability to identify and partner with socially focused microfinance institutions (MFIs).
Opportunity’s three strategic partners in the Philippines are currently in the process of renewing and improving their products and services to offer more affordable and convenient microfinance to its clients, like Ana (pictured).
To enable our partners to have a deeper impact on the lives of their clients, Opportunity has been working with them to develop complementary programs, including an innovative financial literacy project in partnership with the Australian government.
