The Salngan Weavers
Five years ago, the village of Salngan near the coastal town of Iloilo in the southern Philippines was a forgotten community, so poor and marginal that even local people didn't know that it existed. Thanks to the donations of its supporters, Opportunity International Australia and its partners have been able to fund a weaving co-operative in the community, training the villagers in the art of weaving and allowing them to work their way into a brighter future.
