Opportunity named runner-up in the 2010 PwC Transparency Awards

Posted 14 April 2011

Opportunity International Australia is delighted to be named the runner-up in the 2010 PwC Transparency Awards ($5m-$20m revenue category). The awards recognise the quality and transparency of reporting among Australian charities, and encourage not-for-profits to be more professional in their reporting. The awards are supported by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Centre for Social Impact (CSI).

Robert Dunn, CEO of Opportunity, said "It’s an honour to be the runner up for this prestigious and much sought after award – it’s recognition that we tell it like it is, using a solid business approach balanced with moving human stories."

The PwC Transparency Awards were introduced to Australia in 2007. An expert jury selects the winner and finalists from nominees put forward by an independent committee. Organisations are evaluated based on criteria set from the PricewaterhouseCoopers' Reporting Framework, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and reporting guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative.

Opportunity extends its congratulations to the winner of our category, Camp Quality and also to the winner and runner-up of the over $20 million revenue category, Mission Australia and Oxfam.

Opportunity is proud of its program governance and is committed to communicating with its supporters as transparently as possible. To view our 2009 Annual Report and find out more about our programs please click here.
