This March, cyclist Geoff Dittrich and his team are taking the fight against poverty across Australia with an 80-day bike ride from Sydney to Perth. The ‘Macro for Micro’ initiative aims to raise more than AUD$50,000 for Opportunity International Australia. Guy Leech, former World Ironman Champion and health and fitness expert, is supporting Macro for Micro, participating in the first leg of the ride from Sydney to Wollongong.
The trip began in Sydney on 8 March 2010 and is scheduled to finish in Perth on the 29 May 2010. 8 March coincides with United Nations International Women's Day.

A survey done by the Central Statistics Agency in conjunction with the International Labour Organisation has found that at least four million children across Indonesia are employed, with at least 1.7 million categorised as child labourers. The first comprehensive study of its kind in Indonesia, the study found that of the 4.05 million children employed, 2.02 million (50%) worked at least 21 hours per week, and 1.01 million (25%) worked 12 hours a week.
