Marathon Champions
In 2009 David Dowling and Paul Gall raised $10,000 to help end poverty by running the Canberra marathon. As a result of this David is launching Marathon Champions - Team Opportunity, and inviting others to take part by either sponsoring a runner, or being sponsored to run a marathon (any marathon, anywhere) and raising funds to help people living in some of the world's poorest communities.
Marathon Champions is a campaign to help thousands of people out of poverty through microfinance in the Philippines, Indonesia and India. You can get involved by donating at www.marathonchampions.com or you can put your running shoes on, create your fundraising page at www.marathonchampions.com, enter the marathon of your choice and help raise funds through sponsorship.
Runners who complete a marathon and raise a minimum of $1,000 will qualify for inclusion in the 2010 Marathon Champions - Team Opportunity Year Book, with photographs and wording describing their achievement and forewords by marathon legends Rob De Castella and Steve Moneghetti.
