We exist to provide opportunities for people living in poverty to transform their lives. With over 35 years’ experience in microfinance and support services, we use a business approach to solve poverty. Rather than a hand-out, we provide our clients with a loan as small as $100 (known as microcredit or a micro loan) to help grow their small business.This enables them to earn an income and afford food, water, shelter and an education for their children.

World Population Day 2010: A better world a matter of stats

According to the Miniature Earth Project established 2001, if we could distil the earth’s population to a 100 people, maintaining current statistical proportions – an estimated six people would own 59% of the entire wealth of the community, while up to 53 would struggle to live on less than US$2 per day.13 would be hungry or malnourished while 43 would live without basic sanitation. When we consider the state of the world from such a condensed perspective, the value of numerically observing living conditions becomes increasingly marked in the progression of humanity as a whole. Sunday 11 July 2010 marked the 21st anniversary of the United Nations’ World Population Day.
